Christian Colleges: Community
Christian colleges usually have a relatively small student body, so students tend to create meaningful relationships with one another and with staff and faculty. They often get to know not only the faculty in a deep and meaningful way, but also the family of the faculty as well.
Christian colleges accept and welcome students from all over the world…the result is a sea of differences and a unity that is family-like. All students are bonded in the church, and the friendships last a lifetime.
Students arrive from many different areas of the church, and the Christian college serves as an interdenominational setting where students can train together. No system no liturgy or doctrine is given special emphasis, and students learn to respect one another’s views and be faithful in the end to scriptural truth. Some schools in fact encourage the student to deeply study the doctrines and policies of their own denominations, while attending college. In the end, all students are united in service to the church, and cooperate in the work tasks they are given, and strive for harmony in the community living that is thrust upon them by campus life.
Christian College Student life
Education is life, and life is education. Often Christian colleges and schools offer a continuous series of activities like weekend trips, Christian concerts, and athletic activities, banquets, and mission fests. Service opportunities abound, where students minister in off-campus settings, providing practical means to apply classroom teaching in real life situations. Student sports and music programs often garner a very significant percentage of student involvement.
