PSALM 116 : 1- 4

"I love the Lord, because He hears

My voice and my supplications.

Because He has inclined His ear to me,

Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live.

The cords of death encompassed me

And the terrors of Sheol came upon me;

I found distress and sorrow.

Then I called upon the name of the Lord:

O Lord, I beseech You, save my life!"

In Verse 1 David is saying how he loves the Lord because the Lord hears him. And not only hears but says that the Lord has inclined His ear.

That word inclined in the Hebrew means to stretch out, spread out, extend, or bend.

I love that picture of the Lord leaning in, bending down like a parent does to their child, to listen and to hear. He is a loving Father who delights to hear from His children. He is interested and cares about us – He is attentive to you and to me. He gives us His personal care, attention and focus.

And because He is a personal God who inclines His ear to us, we can also bank on the promise that He not only hears but will also answer. He not only listens but also responds.

Prayer is one of those ways for us to be intimate and enjoy fellowship with Jesus. He is our Father, our King, our Friend, our Saviour, our Constant Companion. And He desires fellowship with us - for us to intimately know Him and depend on Him. We are already related to Him if we have placed our faith in Christ. But fellowship is something that we can either choose to enjoy today or not. Prayer is a way that we can fellowship with the Lord Jesus, communing with Him throughout our days - minute by minute, hour by hour.

1 John 5:14-15 says “This is the confidence that we have before Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And we know that He hears in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.”

Rachel Sing: Rachel's transition from student to staff was an easy one as she responded in faith and obedience to the leading of the Lord Jesus to serve Him in the Main Office. Rachel's calm and gentle personality is a great asset in a busy office environment and her keen organization skills serve her well in the challenging role of Bible School Registrar. A Vancouver Island native from birth, Rachel is never too far from her family home.

Missions Fest, attracting upwards of 40,000 guests through it's doors annually was a fantastic experience for so many... not the least ...our entire student body!

As we do every year, the whole student body headed over to Vancouver for the weekend. Besides Capernwray Harbour being responsible for setting up the Mission Booths, hosting many seminars, being ushers and forming prayer teams for the thousands of youth at the Youth Events, the students had time to browse the mission booths displaying many of the countless ways God reaches people around the globe!

Other special events have taken place as unstructured time to connect with one another, rejoicing in the goodness of the Lord Jesus within the community. Summer Night, Nerd Bowling, local Hockey Game & a Men's & Ladies Q&A evening: to name a few.

New Life!

Reuben Jeffrey Thudian made his appearance in the early morning hours of January 19th. Parents, Jeffrey & Tessa are thankful for a safe labour and delivery. The Thudian family are doing well adjusting to the new roles God has ordained. As a staff body we are thrilled to have another little one to love on.
