Bible School Happenings

The Bible School students have returned from their Spring Break.

SeattleA big THANK YOU to all who made time to pray for both the ministry outreach teams as well as for those who hosted and ministered to various guests at Capernwray Harbour during the Bible School break time!

We have been truly enriched in hearing all the wonderful reports of God's work in and through the lives of so many students who have spent the time and money to minister in countless ways to many different people during the time they could have just as easily gone somewhere to relax.

Although for some the context was more dramatic than for others, the Lord was as dynamic in each case as they made themselves available to do and say what He wished to do and say ...magnifying Christ in His unique ways.

Youth Retreat 2017Youth Retreat preparations are in full force around campus as the Second Year students lead the First Year students in all aspects of organizing and hosting this year's Youth Retreat from April 21-23. This year's verse is John 8:12 and all the decorations, activities and food will focus on exploring the contrast between the darkness of the world and the light of life in the person of Jesus Christ.

The final study project presentations are taking place this week in staff homes. It has been so encouraging to hear all of the ways that the Lord has been teaching each one about His Character.

Around the Property

Bathrooms! Bathrooms! Bathrooms!

Bathroom RenoThe Maintenance Team led by Ralf Kempe has been doing a fabulous job of adding and renovating bathrooms around the property!

All of our cabins, both in Preedy Hamlet and the Upper Cottages have bathrooms indoors now thanks to some generous donations over the last couple of years.  Soon we'll be able to share with you what's happening to the Adam & Eve bathhouse that is in the Preedy Hamlet area!

Preedy Lodge also had some changes made to the layout of its bathrooms, resulting in Room 7 having an ensuite which leaves a separate bathroom for Room 6. Room 1 & Room 2 had their Staff Renobathrooms renovated too.  One of the staff homes also received a bathroom renovation this winter thanks to a donation and this makeover has been a great provision to the family of five that lives there.

We're praying that these changes to the property will make your stay with us even sweeter!

Once the Bible School year is completed, Capernwray Harbour hosts a variety of conferences and retreats from the 2nd week in May right through to the end of August, beginning of September. It is the busiest season on campus and we welcome people to come, volunteer and serve with us during this time period to help meet the needs generated by this season.

Support Staff VolunteersService to the guests who come to Capernwray Harbour for an event, conference or retreat allows them to have a holiday or rest break amidst a beautiful, Christ-centered atmosphere. Guests enjoy being served through the meals, events and facilities offered. Support Staff Volunteers play a vital role in providing these services. Volunteers can anticipate enjoying daily devotional times with full time staff members and the rest of the Support Staff team. There are always a variety of activities to enjoy on the property itself during 'off' hours. Basic living expenses are provided for Support Staff Volunteers inclusive of room & board throughout their time of service.

Being a volunteer is a practical, hands-on way to experience the Lord Jesus living His Life in and through His people through service towards others.

Areas available to serve this summer are housekeeping, lawn mowing, maintenance, and youth ministry. In being fully available to the Lord Jesus, we give Him our eyes to see, hands to serve, feet to go and mouth to speak as the expression of His Life.
