Bible School Happenings

The Bible School student body ventured out for its Spring Break today with anticipation. The Lord Jesus Christ has much in store for them as they step out in faith to trust in Him. These two and a half weeks are an invaluable time as each one continues to learn what it means to be completely available to God the Father just as Jesus' life on earth exemplified.  Whether they stay here, at Capernwray Harbour, return home, or travel the globe, we know that one thing is true: The Lord Jesus is with them.

An Overview of Planned Trips for Prayer

Seattle TripThe Union Gospel Mission in Seattle WA USA is actively fighting to rescue people from urban poverty.
Our students join together with the UGM staff and volunteers to support this fight in any way possible. A team of 12 students, accompanied by 2 Capernwray Harbour Staff, are travelling down to Seattle to work with men, women and children. The tasks vary in responsiblilty and degree of difficulty, and might include serving meals, leading Bible studies, babysitting children or painting a room, but the goal is always the same - to share the resurrection Life of Christ.

The HomesteadOne staff member and four students headed South to Snohomish WA USA to a Christian camp, retreat and conference centre called The Homestead.  There they'll help in many different capacities including spring property maintenance, serving retreat guests through housekeeping and food services, as well as sharing the Word through Testimony and Bible Teaching with the local fellowship that meets there weekly.

Greg & Teresa Miller own and operate the Homestead and have done so since leaving Capernwray Harbour as students in the early 90's.

Music Ministry TeamTravelling through Washington & Oregon USA as well as the Okanagan, Lower Mainland and Southern Vancouver Island of BC, this group of 6 students and 2 staff members will share the Word of God through music and Bible Teaching at over 13 events over the 18 day Spring Break.  Their schedule is packed full of opportunities to share the good news of Jesus Christ all along their route. Visit the Facebook page for up to date destinations!  They might be stopping somewhere near you!

The Exodus JourneyA group of 7 students, 14 alumni/past guests plus 2 staff will take the journey from Cairo, Egypt, through the Sinai Peninsula, and up into Israel from the Negev in the South; then on to the Dead Sea, the Galilee area, and finally to Jerusalem for the final three days. There is excitement about the opportunity to reflect on Israel’s journey as the group will travel the same path through the wilderness of the Sinai desert and head towards the Promised Land, before seeing the many places of note in Israel itself! It is in the context of being immersed in the history and culture of the Bible lands that they'll see the Scriptures burst into living reality, through the working of the Holy Spirit in their minds and hearts!

Support Staff VolunteerAbout a dozen students are joining our staff team to facilitate various Guest Groups over the spring break. Quilting & Church Groups will join us for a day, two nights or a week. Each group's activities are based on customized programmes suited to their goals and needs. The outdoor classroom is also used during this time and becomes the platform for proclaiming Christ: Creator and Life!
