Bible School 2016/17 Has Begun!
The Bible School Class of 2016/17 is HERE!!
Its been our delight and privilege, as a Staff Team, to welcome and begin training this years' class of Bible School Students in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have 105 students this year, 19 of which are those in the Leadership Training Programme. The students range from 17 years old to 70 years old and have travelled from around the globe to study the Word of God this year together in this setting. We anticipate that God will meet each one and transform their hearts and minds as He has faithfully done in the past 37 years!
Part of the students' training is in practical duties around the property which is essential to community life. Each one has the opportunity to serve one another in a very practical way. The teaching from the classroom is worked out in these duties and helps to solidify what is being learned.
Outreach to neighbouring communities have also begun already and this is always a rich time of "giving out" of what has been received from our Lord Jesus. There are a variety of formal opportunities available such as ministry through music, ministry to a variety of demographics of inner city, rural, youth, children & seniors. Just like the ways in which the Lord equips, He also calls and builds up His Kingdom in unfathomable and diverse ways. Its exciting to witness the students "come alive" in Christ Jesus as they put their trust in Him .
So far the students have been through an overview of the Bible class called Christ thru the Scriptures, classes on the Character of God, Genesis and now Acts. The Leadership Training Students have also been working through the Book of Mark in preparation to lead the greater student body through Study Projects after the Mid Term Break.
The students also had a chance to go out on one of two Venture weekends. Venture weekends are an invitation to explore some of the West Coast's most beautiful land and sea scapes in smaller groups of 12-20 students & staff. These weekends away from the Main Body are utilized to hear and see all that creation declares about the character of Jesus Christ. These weekends become a starting point for many to begin making time to seek the Lord Jesus in His creation and this year was no different. Praise the Lord!

Meet Our New Staff Members
Johnny Cullen Keidann:
Johnny CK, as he is known in Capernwray circles, has moved westward from Toronto to serve in the maintenance department. Johnny brings with him an infectious love for the Lord Jesus, an evangelistic heart to share Christ with others and a keen interest in the people placed in his path. Johnny has been learning many practical skills since joining staff in 2016. He has been both a student and summer volunteer at Capernwray Harbour in years past.
On completing the Leadership Training Programme, Sebastian served in the kitchen as a summer volunteer. After that, we couldn’t let him go and he joined the full time staff team at Capernwray Harbour as a Kitchen Assistant. During long, full days Sebastian continues to keep a smile on his face as he preps meals and serves guests and students alike. Originally from Chilliwack BC, Sebastian first came to Capernwray Harbour on a school trip which led to family trips and then to his enrolment in the Bible School for two years.
Rachel was a student at Capernwray Harbour from September 2014 to May 2016. Cooking during summers at a Bible Camp has prepared Rachel for the role of Kitchen Assistant at CHBC. She has a flair for flavours and seeing meals prepared with loving care & attention. Rachel desires to grow in her walk with Jesus and to encourage others to do the same. She is a wonderful addition to the community at Capernwray Harbour.
