Bible School Happenings
The dock returning to the waterfront is always a special occasion here at Capernwray Harbour. It's a definite sign that Spring is upon us and serves as a reminder that our time together as this body of believers is coming to a close in just eight short weeks. We will continue to savour every moment though as we enjoy the Lord's presence in each day through one another.
A highlight from this term was the Study Project presentations on the Minor Prophets. We, as staff, never tire of hearing of the revelation given from our Lord Jesus Christ by His Spirit that speaks so clearly to each one as they make time to study His Word. The presentations testify of the Life of Christ that so many have come to know in a personal and profound way over the last several months of Bible School. The character of Jesus Christ is proven time and time again through each book of the Minor Prophets. Our God truly is a Holy, Merciful and Long Suffering God. We continually praise Him for reminding us of these aspects of His character so that we can wholeheartedly move forward in faith as the days ahead unfold, trusting in Him alone.
Spring Break Ministries
The Bible School student body ventured out for its Spring Break today. We look forward, with them, to what the Lord Jesus Christ has in store for them as they step out in faith to trust in Him. These two and a half weeks are an invaluable time as each one continues to learn what it means to be "doers of the word" (James 1:22-25) in obedience with hearts of thankfulness for all that Jesus Christ pleases to do in and through them. Whether they stay here, at Capernwray Harbour, return home, or travel the globe, we know that one thing is true: The Lord Jesus is with them.
An Overview of Planned Ministries for Prayer
About a dozen students are joining our staff team to facilitate a few Guest Groups over the two weeks of spring break. A Cadet group, Artisan groups and a Family Reunion will join us for one or two nights or a week. Each group's activities are based on customized programmes suited to their goals and needs. The outdoor classroom is also used during this time and becomes the platform for proclaiming Christ: Creator and Life!
Capernwray Harbour Ministry Tour:
The Capernwray Harbour Ministry Tour starts in the Lower Mainland of BC and will travel South through Washington & Oregon USA, back through the Okanagan Valley in the BC Interior. This group will deliver the Word of God through music, testimonies and preaching. They will be a great encouragement to the many different congregations, youth groups and personal visits as they preach Christ wherever they go. Pray that many will rediscover Christ as Life through them.
Victoria (Vancouver Island BC):
A handful of students will volunteer alongside YWAM Victoria around Port Renfrew & Victoria BC. The purpose of the trip is to train the students in what it means to practically share Christ with people in an urban setting and among diverse cultural groups. They will also share testimony of Christ's life, and assist with children's programmes and spring cleaning (both in and outdoors).
The Homestead (WA USA):
This retreat and conference centre in Washington State has been developed and is led by past students of Capernwray Harbour - Greg & Teresa Miller. A group of four will go to help with maintenance, painting, spring yard cleaning and sharing in the Word to encourage the ministry of this family-run centre.
UGM's Women & Children's Shelter
(Seattle WA USA):
Hope Place is at the heart of this trip to Seattle WA USA. A group of 12 students & staff will be cooking & serving meals, cleaning, organizing, and providing children's after school care while at Hope Place, Union Gospel Mission's Women & Children's Shelter. They will also have a few opportunities to serve at UGM's Men's Shelter & Emergency Family Shelter.
