Spring Break Ministries
March 15 - April 2
The Bible School student body ventures out for its Spring Break in one week. We look forward, with them, to what the Lord Jesus Christ has in store for them as they step out in faith to trust in Him. These two and a half weeks are an invaluable time as each one continues to learn what it means to be "doers of the word" (James 1:22-25) in obedience with hearts of thankfulness for all that Jesus Christ pleases to do in and through them. Whether they stay here, at Capernwray Harbour, return home, or travel the globe, we know that one thing is true: The Lord Jesus is with them.
An Overview of Planned Ministries for Prayer
More than a dozen students are joining our staff team to facilitate various groups over the two weeks of spring break. School groups, Cadet groups, Women's Retreats, Artisan Groups and more will join us for a day, two nights or a week. Each group's activities are based on customized programmes suited to their goals and needs. The outdoor classroom is widely used during this time and becomes the platform for evangelistic ministry.
Capernwray Harbour Ministry Tour:
The Capernwray Harbour Ministry Tour starts in Victoria BC and will travel throughout Northern Washington USA, back to BC through the Okanagan Valley and the BC Interior finishing up again in Victoria. This group will deliver the Word of God through music, testimonies and preaching. With a different stop almost every night this team asks for the Lord's hand for safety on the journey as they drive from place to place and restful nights. They will be a great encouragement to the many different congregations, youth groups and personal visits as they preach Christ wherever they go.
The Homestead (WA USA):
This retreat and conference centre has been developed and is led by past students of Capernwray Harbour - Greg & Teresa Miller. A group of 3 students will help with spring cleaning and plug in wherever necessary to encourage the family-run centre. The expression "Many hands make light work" is the theme here.
UGM's Women & Children's Shelter
(Seattle WA USA):
Hope Place is at the heart of this trip to Seattle WA USA. 16 students and 2 staff members will be cooking & serving meals, cleaning, organizing, teaching Bible lessons and providing children's after school care while at Hope Place, Union Gospel Mission's Women & Children's Shelter.
This group of 12 students will join a few families from a church congregation (past students from CHBC) from Alberta to minister to the Church in Jamaica. They will be involved in soccer camps, church services, building houses and more as they seek to encourage the local church body and to extend a helping hand no matter what strengths or weaknesses they have as they are available to Christ Jesus who indwells them.
9 students are set to experience South India from the Kerala coastal backwaters to the lush Mountain Regions and Urban centres. Mutual fellowship with past students from Capernwray Harbour who have returned to India will be the biggest highlight as the students witness what it means to "Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit," (Matt. 28:19). Work projects, spring cleaning and evangelistic ministries to children and adults among neighbouring villages and tribal areas are a few of the activities that await those on this trip.
Stephen & Fiona Thiessen & Family
joining Capernwray Harbour's Staff Team July 1st.
Before Stephen & Fiona were married they worked here at Capernwray Harbour but soon joined together to serve and then take on the role of Director of Capernwray Quebec. After 12 years of their service there they will be returning to Capernwray Harbour to join us on staff. This transition, as a family, will no doubt be a step of faith as they trust in the Lord Jesus in moving their family across the country. Stephen will be taking on the role of Bible School Principal and itinerant teacher.
Matt & Jessica Mclean and their four children have served at Capernwray Quebec for over 10 years now. They have assumed the leadership of the Centre giving direction to its ministries.
Despite change in position or location the Lord Jesus Christ is the Leader of each one and the message of Jesus Christ as Life continues to be proclaimed!!!
Reunion in the Rockies!
A Reunion for all Torchbearer Centre Alumni
GOD Is All About Reunions!
When the prodigal son returns, there is a reunion! There was an embrace. There was food. There was music. There was great rejoicing. God is all about reunions! When one sinner repents there is great rejoining! The greatest reunion yet to be held is after the great trumpet call of God. One day, Jesus is coming back and there will be a GREAT party in heaven! The wedding supper of the Lamb will be a time of great rejoicing and gladness. No more pain. No more sorrow. No more sin. God will wipe away every tear and there will be no more death!
But until that day comes, let's celebrate the Lord together. It's gonna be fun! It's gonna be awesome! Come to Reunion in the Rockies!
