Happenings of Bible School
The End of a Term
The Christmas Banquet not only marks the end of the term but represents all that the Lord has lavished and bountifully provided in the first half of Bible School 2011/12. As a staff and student body we are filled with thanksgiving as we gather together to feast on the Lord's goodness in celebrating His Life and remembering Immanuel - "God With Us". God with us in the here and now; God with us in the past and God with us in the future.
The Lord Jesus was at work in the hearts and minds of each student through much teaching in the classroom and other venues. Some Bible books taught this term were Exodus, Deuteronomy, Corinthians, Philippians, Thessalonians and more. Through the exercise of writing "Journals" (summarizing each series) students have the opportunity to process what's been taught from the platform. This is often when application starts to take shape.
The Lord Jesus provided, through His Spirit, revelation of Himself through the Study Project preparations in the book of Mark. The evenings of presenting what each one prepared on their assigned passage was a great testimony of both His provision and enabling. This time together in Home Groups is always "huge". There is so much "learning" that takes place in so many ways!
The students enjoyed an Indian theme meal, representing one of the many cultures in the student body. Curry, Chapati and Chai were served as the students sat on the floor in the dining room to enjoy the bounty of flavours of India. What a privilege tocome together from many nations as one body under Christ.
Christmas Light Up kicked off the holiday season here at Capernwray and once again was a great time of fellowship as paper cut-out snowflakes were made and cookies were decorated.
Of course we couldn't miss the annual events of Caroling on the Island; a Student Talent Night; and the Pump House Fair!
Please pray for students that the Lord Jesus will further apply what they've been learning as they've gone from here for the Christmas Break.
We are excited to hear how the Lord will continue to lavish His bounty upon them when they return to us January 8!

New Destinations - Same Ministry
Lawrence, Lori, Daniel and Mary Jensen will be moving to a town in Alberta, Canada in June 2012.
Lawrence has accepted an invitation to Pastoral ministry of a church in that area.
Having served faithfully at Capernwray Harbour Bible Centre for about 20 years we will miss them in many ways. Both Lawrence and Lori went through the 1st year Bible School training and then a second year: "Leadership Training Course". They were married soon
after Bible School, then Daniel and Mary were born to them joining the larger staff family.
We are confident that Christ will be proclaimed in their new venue.
Seasonal Support Staff Volunteers
An Experience to Remember
"One of the exciting opportunities at Capernwray Harbour is the practical application of allowing the Lord Jesus to live His Life through us as members of the seasonal volunteer support staff team.
We serve in areas such as housekeeping, lawns, gardens, maintenance, office, youth ministry and conferencing. In being fully available to the Lord Jesus, we give Him our eyes to see, hands to serve, feet to go and mouth to speak as the expression of His Life."
