Spring Break Ministries
During this extended break, Bible School students have countless opportunities to put into practice what they have gleaned from classroom studies and experience the faithfulness of the Lord Jesus as they travel home to family & friends or to far off destinations. Trained for fulltime service in Christ, regardless of location or circumstance will become a practical reality for many, read on and find out why.
Home at the Harbour
Quilters, cadets, families, pastors, ladies & student groups will be served with loving care by our staff team & a group of 14 Bible School students. These retreats & outdoor education programmes provide strategic opportunities to bear witness of the risen Lord Jesus through word, deed and a quality of service that reflects His character. Not just mere programmes but investments made in hearts & lives with eternal value.
Please pray as we seek to share the Life of Christ with those on "our doorstep".
The purpose of the mission trip to Quebec is to see and be involved in the work that God is doing in this unique province. This year a team of 9 will travel to different 1st Nation reserves in northern Quebec; bringing the message of hope, love & light to those 'dark' places. Opportunities for ministry & encouragement to the homeless community in Montreal as well as the Body of Christ in local church congregations will be numerous. "à qui Dieu a voulu faire connaître quelle est la glorieuse richesse de ce mystère parmi les païens, savoir: Christ en vous, l'espérance de la gloire. " Colossiens 1:27
That we may listen & respond to the voice of the Holy Spirit as we step into the many opportunities that God presents to us.
That people will turn to Christ as they witness His Life in us.
A team of 6 students will travel with 1 of our staff members to work with Hideki and Sachiko Tanazawa, Directors of the Torchbearer Centre at Yamanakako, Japan. The first week we will be hosted at the Centre and will serve alongside the Fujiyoshida Baptist Church in the areas of music and drama ministry, teaching English to children and helping with some "spring cleaning". The second week we will travel to Tokyo and be hosted by Uenonomori Christian Church where we will meet up with a past student from Capernwray Hall and be involved in various evangelistic outreaches through sharing testimony, drama and music.
The dramas & testimonies of the team clearly speak of the Risen Lord Jesus Christ. Pray that those who hear & observe will be drawn to worship & believe in Him who alone is Saviour, Lord & Life.
10 students and 2 staff members will travel down to Seattle, WA to volunteer at the Union Gospel Mission's Women & Children's Shelter. The group will be helping with practical work projects such as painting, organizing, kitchen chores, cleaning, repairing, etc. Other involvement includes afterschool programmes, sharing devotional thoughts and testimonies, also having the opportunity to encourage the staff and get to know the guests on a personal level. As the Lord's character is clearly seen by those with whom we come in contact please pray that they will enter into a living, vital relationship with Him. May we be a sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place (2 Corinthians 2:14)!
