During the months of July and August, Capernwray offers seven week-long conferences designed to provide an opportunity for each one to come to be refreshed in body, soul & spirit by the Lord Jesus Christ through solid, practical Bible teaching amidst a holiday setting.

Six of these weeks are geared towards families, couples and adults attending on their own, while one week has been set aside specifically by Capernwray for ministry to grown-ups.

Guests will enjoy a holiday like no other as they experience Christ-centered devotionals & teaching from guest & resident lecturers, a myriad of recreational activity options & special events, a palate-pleasing menu as well as comfortable accommodations & excellently maintained property facilities & grounds. The Capernwray Staff aims to impart a quality of service in which all guests will come to know Jesus Christ as Lord & Life.

Parents can be assured that their children will be well cared for, both physically & spiritually by competant and caring Capernwray Staff, as they participate in the teen & children ministry programmes offered each week. Each age group will receive age-appropriate Bible teaching along with stimulating games, music, crafts & outdoor adventures while the adults are in session during the mornings and evenings.

Capernwray caters to the whole family

Holiday Bible Week afternoons, for both adults and youth alike, are filled with outdoor pursuit options such as waterskiing, surfing, ocean kayaking, the climbing tower, beach volleyball and island boat tours. Guests may choose to take time to reflect on the beauty of God's Creation with an afternoon stroll through the forest trails, returning to cool off in the shade of our ocean view patios with a refreshing treat from the snack shop.

When does the conference start and finish?

Check in will begin at 1:00 pm on Sunday. Guest are welcome to arrive on any of the afternoon ferry sailings from Chemainus to Thetis Island in time for a 6:00 pm supper. The conference concludes on Friday in time for guests to board a 1:10 pm or 2:50 pm ferry sailing from Thetis Island back to Chemainus.

What do I need to bring with me for the conference?
Please remember to pack:
a. towels (full bed linen provided)
b. Bible & notebook
c. Clothing for rain or shine
d. Personal Toiletries
e. Sunscreen, Bug Spray, Afterbite
f. Flashlight
g. Portable play pen or crib (for infant use in accommodations)
h. Sleeping Bag for TEEN camp out

How far is Capernwray from the ferry dock on Thetis Island?

Capernwray is situated immediately north (left) of the BC Ferries dock on Thetis Island. Parking is available on the Capernwray property. Please plan your travels in advance as July & August is peak season for BC Ferries. Additional travel information will be sent with your confirmation of registration.

 

Where will I stay during the conference?

There are several different types of accommodation on the property where guests can stay. There are fully-winterized cottages which sleep 4 - 8 persons. Eight of these cottages have their own washrooms while seven of the cottages share a washroom building.

 

Capernwray is a Thetis Island peak experience

Preedy Lodge is another accommodation on the property which is a dormitory-style accommodation with rooms sleeping 4 - 6 persons. Preedy Lodge has multiple washroom/shower facilities and a comfortable lounge for guest use as well as an outdoor ocean view patio.


The third option for accommodation is one of our 5 Guest Suites located in our Main Hall building. These suites sleep 2-3 persons and have their own ensuite or shared bathroom. Each room provides a range of amenities including coffee maker and towels. Please note there is an additional cost to the conference fee to stay in a Guest Suite.

Can I make an accommodation request?

We will do our utmost to fufill your accommodation requests where possible. Accommodation is pre-assigned prior to arrival by the Conference Registrar taking into consideration the number of persons per family unit, the ages & number of children and any medical, physical or other needs present.

How can I register?

Registrations will be accepted on and after the posted registration start date. Registrations can be mailed in accommpanied with the specified deposit in the form of a cheque, money order or credit card number with expiry date. Telephone or fax registrations are accepted with a credit card to be used as the method of payment for the deposit. Capernwray accepts Visa or Mastercard. All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable should a cancellation occur.

Are pets allowed at Capernwray ?

To ensure the comfort and safety of all guests of Capernwray , we do not permit guest pets on the property or in any of the accommodations or facilities. We are happy to recommend a canine bed & breakfast & kennel service in the town of Chemainus to you.

 

What type of programmes will there be for my children?
