Ideas For Building a Cell Group Or Bible Study
By Fritz Richard
This article will help you build your cell group or Bible study group. I have over 25 years experience in direct response marketing. And many of this ideas are captured from direct response techniques.
Idea #1:
Print up 500 - 1000 invite cards (business cards), they should be two sided. The front should say what your group does (benefits) and the back should have a map or directions. Only give them to people you feel comfortable with. After all, you are inviting them into your home or church. I think the Holy Spirit leads me to the right people, so I follow my heart.
Idea #2:
Create a flyer for your neighborhood, if you feel OK with knocking on the door, hand it them directly (if not just leave on the door). Make sure it has your face on it so they will not just throw it away. Most of your neighbors know what you look like.
Idea #3:
Word of mouth can be very powerful, in fact its the most powerful way to get people. Give them an honest 60 second testimony about what being in a cell group or Bible study has done for you.
Idea #4:
Hold a fundraiser for your Church, local high school or charity. Create a sign that says sponsored by "John Smith's Friday Night Bible Study".
Idea #5:
Have your group volunteer to clean up a school or retirement home. Or you can volunteer at a soup kitchen or retirement home. The point is make sure you schedule it far enough in advance to send out press releases, "John Smith's Friday Night Bible Study" will be volunteering at the Old Folks Retirement village on May 6th.
Idea #6
How about a sign, like a garage sale sign that says "Friday Night Bible Study, 7pm at John's house". This would only be for your neighborhood, but It could be very effective.
Think of it this way, even if you only get one new member every 3 months from using any one of these ideas consistently, that's 4 new members a year. If you had no members to start, it would only take you a few years to get 12. That's if no one else brought any one. What usually happens is your get one extra member for every two new members.
The last idea is the most powerful, in fact it works better than all the other ideas put together. The last idea is so effective it could provide you with a full group in a matter of days, hours or even minutes. And the best part is it hardly takes any time, it is absolutely free and it works every single time, pray to our Lord, Jesus Christ.
And I pray your group gets to a full 12 strong believers.
